Wuj Productions News: Music Videos, Singles, CD and More

Sali O "Friendzoned Forever"

Fred Kimmel "I Am What I Am"

Sometime between now and maybe a year from now, Fred and I are talking about making music videos which will feature us on camera. If you'd like to help us with your filming skills or on-camera talent, let us know! I haven't been in front of a video camera in years, and I'm not sure what kind of directorial ideas are brewing inside Fred's mind, but I think after we made the animated music videos that I drew all the pictures for, it might be a refreshing glimpse of what's to come with the launch of our Fred and Sally band. Since we plan to play live, we might as well film snippets and share them as we go. In the meantime, "Sad Eyes" will probably be the first animated video I draw for that will include some live footage of Fred in it. Yeah! Everybody absolutely loves watching his "I Am What I Am" music video, and singing the song which got him the most attention on social media thus far, with "Suki Yo (I Love You)" by Fred Kimmel feat. Sali O's animated music video not far behind, garnering half as many likes just being a cartoon (thank you!!). The release date will be announced in the spring. What's more, we're planning upcoming single releases from Fred's Earth and Space albums! There are so many past releases that are worth re-releasing as singles even years later because his music has that timeless quality, a lifelong compositional goal of mine to reach.

As for me, I'm planning to release piano solos of my songs on Crystal Rhapsody (Pop - Dance) which I would ideally love to release on CD as well, hopefully in time for the holidays this year. When I conceived the album, I envisioned it to be one part club, the other part zen. I'd love my CD to have the best of both worlds on it, all the hard-hitting dance tracks with gentle instrumental piano versions alongside my candlelight vocal ballad versions for the ultimate party and after party chillout vibe. "Friendzoned Forever" is the one track that I wrote as a ballad first, then made a trance remix of. My goal for this album, besides writing some Japanese lyrics mixed into English for the first time, was to write songs that will be both dance tune and ballad from inception. Whether these songs stand the test of time or not, I feel I achieved that compositional goal which is harder to do than you might think considering both the music and the lyrics had to fit each mode from the start like a puzzle. The exercise was both restrictive and freeing at the same time, allowing me to build on these songs virtually indefinitely with fresh, new versions, as I'd done with "Friendzoned Forever", ballad and Trance Mix. The lyrics to "Friendzoned Forever" are posted on my YouTube page. You can hear on YouTube and all major online platforms or my website all the songs on my Crystal Rhapsody album. If you're looking to hear even more, check out my EP from 2005, PINK MANHATTAN by Sali Oguri (Pop - Rock). We might even put out a snippet of me singing and playing my songs, too. Stay tuned, and we'll both see you on-screen soon!
