Today, my newly acquired taste for tea adventures has enabled me to snap another pic of my pretty and petite, yet sturdy Irish mug filled with my take on the matcha latte, a sencha-matcha latte with a touch of ceremonial matcha. As you can see, the color is a minty, melony, almost iridescent pastel green. I think I like this particular green tea, because I've tried other kinds of green tea before, and some of them tasted like a blend of green tea with black tea, which was kind of a pleasant surprise, but I went with the "matcha-sencha" in the end. I raised the matcha up a notch with the powder because somehow, I think the matcha in the matcha-sencha blend is mostly for color. Nevertheless, the blend seems more appealing than sencha alone.
As for making my own tea blends, I've decided to get empty tea bags to use up my loose leaf teas. I've chosen paper over polypropylene because the teas I've been getting have all been in paper tea bags, and they're strong; they work fine. The only thing I wish is that all tea bags came with the string properly threaded through the tea bags instead of stapled onto them by some machine.
I'm mostly blending green, Thai (vanilla blend) and matcha teas, but Strawberries and Cream, Rose Vanilla Chai and Number One Thai Tea in a canister, I'm eyeing you for the upcoming holidays.
